Mark joined Smithwise to help expand the company’s commercialization consultative services to innovative entrepreneurs and established medtech companies.
He enjoys working with clients to solve some of the most vexing challenges in health care today. In addition, Mark volunteers as a mentor to the local chapter of the NSF Innovation Corps at the University of Pennsylvania, and he advises aspiring medical start-ups in the University City Science Center’s QED proof-of-concept program.
Prior to Smithwise, Mark achieved proven success in leading sales and marketing teams to produce exceptional top and bottom line growth: his clients included device start-ups that were acquired by Cardinal Health, and Boston Scientific; plus, established product lines from Class I (single-use devices) to Class III devices (hip implants) of multinationals like Medtronic.
Mark graduated with majors in Economics and Psychology, with distinction, from Cornell University, and he earned an MBA from the UCLA Anderson School of Management. He lives with his wife in Philadelphia. During their free time, Mark and his wife enjoy traveling, supporting the local music scene, and eating their way through Philadelphia, NYC, New England, and beyond..View Team
