Aidan has a long and diverse history working as an industrial designer, dedicating the majority of his career to developing products that help medical professionals care for their patients.
His admiration for the important work that they do inspires the commitment, artistry and innovative thinking he brings to his projects.
As Lead Industrial Designer at Smithwise, he is responsible for the research and design of human interfaces during a products development from concept, through prototype validation to manufacturing. Prior to joining the team at Smithwise, Aidan held industrial design positions at several local and international medical device corporations including Mindray North America, Maquet Cardiac Assist and Datascope Corp.
His enthusiasm for researching and understanding the user’s needs, coupled with his passion for creating products that enhance the user’s experience has propelled the design of numerous life-saving and life support products such as cardiac assist balloon pumps, patient monitors, telemetry packs, vascular closure devices, endoscopic vessel harvesting instruments, heart surgery tools, anesthesia machines, ultrasound machines and heart lung machines.
He is a graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in Industrial Design.View Team
